It Starts in Your Head!

Did you know that your mind is naturally inclined to think more negatively than positively? This isn't by accident; it's inevitable because we are all imperfect humans. Yet, we strive daily to live our lives to the fullest, constantly longing to achieve the greatest things our hearts desire.

Understanding that life is truly what you make it, you can turn it into a living masterpiece or let it become an agonizing struggle that fights your soul at every turn. Your life today is a result of the choices you have made. I could tell you that life is unfair or that you were dealt an ugly hand. The truth is, we all face challenges, but it's how we choose to play the hand we're dealt that matters most.

I became a new mom at 18, married with my second child in my mid-twenties, and divorced before I turned 26. All this happened in less than a decade, all while being a mom to five children. I had no choice but to play the cards I was dealt. What I'm most thankful for is my ability to see the best in every situation. Who could see the best in being a divorced mother of five? Me. Because God never gives you more than you can handle.

I took time to focus on my children and myself. I realized that I am not a victim of my circumstances but a victor over them. I want you to understand that you are not a victim either. Life is what it is, and you can't change how it shows up. What you can control is your response, the boundaries you set, what you give attention to, and how you manage your emotions. Once I understood this, I became the hero of my own life. I saw myself for who I was destined to be: the daughter of royalty, a king, a lord, and the one who gave his life for me—Jesus Christ. I am more powerful and steadfast than I could have ever imagined because I chose to see the greatness in my life, not my faults.

You are more than you can imagine. You are an unstoppable force, and the more you believe in yourself, the easier it is to make the best decisions for your life. Stop being the victim of your story and start becoming the hero you need to save yourself. You are one of life's precious gifts. You hold the key to all that you can and will become, but you must believe in yourself and have unshakable faith.

I am remarried and have six amazing children, five of whom are thriving adults, and a little 11-year-old who is one of my life's most rewarding treasures.
